The nine-story patient care tower – Saint Alphonsus’ Center for Advanced Healing – represents a wonder of modern health care architecture, but it is much more than that. This new center, which opened Monday, combines the most sophisticated medical technologies with evidence-based architectural design principles proven to aid recovery and healing. The 400,000-square-foot Central Tower houses 160 private patient rooms, a 16-suite state-of-the-art surgical operating theater, a 32-bed intensive care unit, and patient and family support enhancements all focused on improving health outcomes, privacy, comfort and safety. A time capsule event will take place today at Oct. 23, 2 p.m. and a dedication ceremony will take place on Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and dedication tours Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
