The Pacific Ethanol, an ethanol plant from California will begin operation in Burley within a year. The plant will use corn from different U.S. states and it is expected to produce 50 million gallons per year. The leftovers of high-protein grain are expected to be sold to dairy farmers as feed. The plant is the first fuel-grade ethanol facilities in southern Idaho and is expected to employ 40 people.
