The Meridian City Council approved a zoning change for a planned lifestyle center, Meridian Town Center, last night.
CenterCal Properties plans to build 500,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, entertainment and office space at the corner of Eagle Road and Fairview Avenue. Site plans call for 24 buildings, one of which appears to be a gym, and some of which would have office or housing above retail. The lifestyle center would be next to a 60-acre park and a residential component.
“Meridian and the Treasure Valley are ideally suited for a lifestyle center, and currently there is no such project available in the area,” CenterCal Director of Development Andy Wilk said. “A combination of strong demographics and local growth, enjoyable climate and quality of life is a perfect fit for a lifestyle center.”
CenterCal’s project is one of two announced in western Ada County last year. Poag & McEwen plans to build The Shops at Lakemoor on Eagle Road near Chinden Boulevard in Eagle.
