Governor Butch Otter (ID) asked Dave Tuthill to stay permanently as the director of Idaho Department of Water Resources.
Otter made the announcement during his "water summit" in Burley today. They water summit was organized to help find solutions for an impasse over eastern Idaho water shortages.

According to a government report Idaho was ranked as the lowest price for electricity in the nation.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration report showed that in 2006 Idaho households paid the 6.12 cents per kilowatt hour for electricity, followed by West Virginia at 6.32 cents and Washington at 6.81 cents.

The Senate passed a bill that would increase Idaho's minimum wage by $7.25 an hour over the next two years. The bill passed the full Senate on a 25-10 vote.
