Today, February 20, IHOP is offering "free" pancakes until 10:00 PM for a donation. The proceeds will be given to St. Luke's Children's Hospital.  The tradition is that the English would consume their milk, eggs, and butter before the 40 day fasting period and the initiation of Lent. This is the second year that IHOP and St. Luke's have collaborated in the effort of helping children's medical services nationally. Stop by one of the three locations in the Boise area to support a great cause and celebrate Mardi Gras: Federal Way near Fred Meyer, Fairview near Wal-Mart in Meridian, and on Emerald by the Boise Towne Square Mall. Now you can take part a bigger part in contributing more to your recycle bins or begin the new year by recycling your products. Now you can recycle plastics numbered 1-7 whether the City of Boise or Allied/BFI in Ada County service you.  For example yogurt and butter container, most plastic bottles and cups, and more can be recycled. Items that are not accepted are Styrofoam, plastic bags, and cling wraps. Last year almost 12,000 tons of material were recycled.
