Today Ada commissioners will meet to discuss the proposed Nampa-based community college at 2:30 P.M. The meeting will be held at the Ada County Courthouse, 200 West Front Street.

According to a government report Idaho was ranked as the lowest price for electricity in the nation.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration report showed that in 2006 Idaho households paid the 6.12 cents per kilowatt hour for electricity, followed by West Virginia at 6.32 cents and Washington at 6.81 cents.

The Senate passed a bill that would increase Idaho's minimum wage by $7.25 an hour over the next two years. The bill passed the full Senate on a 25-10 vote.

McLean, VA Freddie Mac (NYSE:FRE) today released the results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS) in which the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 6.16 percent with an average 0.4 point for the week ending March 22, 2007, up from last week when it averaged 6.14 percent. Last year at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 6.32 percent.
The 15-year FRM this week averaged 5.90 percent with an average 0.4 point, up from last week when it averaged 5.88 percent. A year ago, the 15-year FRM averaged 5.97 percent.
Five-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs) averaged 5.91 percent this week, with an average 0.6 point, up slightly from last week when it averaged 5.90 percent. A year ago, the 5-year ARM averaged 5.96 percent.
One-year Treasury-indexed ARMs averaged 5.40 percent this week with an average 0.7 point, down from last week when it averaged 5.42 percent. At this time last year, the 1-year ARM averaged 5.41 percent.

Yesterday Treasure Valley Properties team took a challenge by climbing new heights. Boise Peak Fitness introduced rock climbing to the team including a belay class. A belayer is the partner on the ground who manages the ropes for the climbers safety. There was also a team building orientation that prepped the team to focus on being present minded, drawing on the team's strengths, maintaining a positive attitude, and overcoming fears. With the rock climbing introduction and team orientation the team was ready to get strapped into their gear and begin their journey. For some team members it was a matter of trusting the belayer, not becoming too frightened to reach their destination, and most importantly trusting themselves. After all of the sweat, heart-beating, and cheers the team's confidence built to a new height. The team agreed that it was an exciting and challenging experience. The City of Boises Division of Housing & Community Development (HCD) invites the citizens of Boise to provide input on priority needs for the distribution of approximately $1,200,000 of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and approximately $800,000 Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) federal funding, provided to the City of Boise from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The Public Hearing and Application Workshop will be held Tuesday, March 27 in the Cedars Conference Room at the HCD Offices located at 1025 South Capitol Boulevard, Boise, Idaho. Public Hearing 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.; CDBG Application Workshop 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

The 30-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 6.14 percent with an average 0.4 point for the week ending March 15, 2007. The 6.14 percent remained the same since last week. Last year the average was 6.34 percent.
The 15-year FRM this week averaged 5.88 percent with an average 0.4 point, up from last week when it averaged 5.86 percent. A year ago, the 15-year FRM averaged 5.98 percent.
Five-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs) averaged 5.90 percent this week, with an average 0.6 point, unchanged from last week when it averaged 5.90 percent. A year ago, the 5-year ARM averaged 5.93 percent.
One-year Treasury-indexed ARMs averaged 5.42 percent this week with an average 0.7 point, down from last week when it averaged 5.47 percent. At this time last year, the 1-year ARM averaged 5.37 percent.
(Average commitment rates should be reported along with average fees and points to reflect the total cost of obtaining the mortgage.)

Attractive cities such as: New York, San Francisco, Moscow, and Shanghai continue to have increasing house prices on high-end property contrary to the real estate slowdown in the United States.
Sue Foxley, head of residential-property research at Jones Lang LaSalle said, "It's quite an interesting irony that these buyers are globally footloose, because there are probably only 100 streets around the world on their shopping lists."
